Area Served:
Fort Pierce (Serving: Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties) ensures that the Coastal Food Bank (TCFB) is the only food bank in the 4-county area of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.
They are a partner of Feeding America - the nation's largest network of more than 200 food banks - one of 14 food banks in Florida, and the only authorized USDA government food distributor.
Do you know the difference between a food bank and a food pantry?
A food bank collects, stores, and distributes surplus food and other usable products to non-profit organizations such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other feeding programs.
A food pantry provides food and other services directly to needy people.
Last year, TCFB distributed almost 8 million pounds of food!
